  1. I hear nothing after I successfully installed your software and run it. What's wrong? What should I do?

Please go to Control Panel->Speech->Text to Speech, and then click review voice, you will see a message: "This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another voice or selecting a different audio output device."  This means you didn't install your sound card driver correctly. In some situation, you can play music or movie on your computer, because Microsoft XP installed a default driver for "Audio" players. But you must know that "Audio" and "Speech" are quite different issues in computer, so maybe you can not use the speech function although you can play music.

Please install your sound card driver again. (Normally the driver is on the CD of main board, because the sound card is integrated with main board.)

  1. I received the software package, but I didn’t find  the Crystal Voice.

Please go to Disc A, find the folder named Natural Voice Crystal. Open the folder and click setup.exe to install it.

  1. I can not see SPEECH in control panel.

You can download it from Microsoft website and install it in your computer.

Microsoft engine download link:

  1. I get an error number 1904 while I am installing NaturalReader.

This error number gives you the message that you were unable to install our software, and unable to register any component into your system.

There are some possible causes:

*   You have installed some software which is protecting your registry.

*   You don't have the right to install our software into your computer.

*   You changed the installation folder with an illegal names (such as foreign letters). Please try to re-install the software without changing any settings.

  1. How to uninstall Free version.

Please go to Start->All programs->NaturalReader, choose Uninstall the Free version to uninstall.

  1. Microsoft Office add-in toolbars didn't come up after I successfully installed your paid versions.

Please make sure to close all Office applications when you are installing NaturalReader.

You can also choose to enable or disable the toolbars.

*    To enable an add-in, select the check box next to the add-in.

*    If the COM add-in you want is not listed, you need to add it to the Add-ins available list. Click Add, click the add-in (.exe or .dll file) you want, and then click OK.

*   To disable an add-in, clear the check box next to the add-in.

*    To remove an add-in, clear the check box next to the add-in you want to remove, and then click Remove.

  1. I can not see the IE toolbar.

Open Internet Explorer, click View->toolbars and check NVRIE bar.

  1. I want to convert text to audio files, what is the file size limitation?

Since Windows file size limitation is 3G per file, you can only create an audio file which is smaller than 3G. If the text file is very big, you can convert it by reducing the audio quality.

  1. About the Enterprise version's batch converter, how many files can I convert at one time?

Technically, that is no limitation. You can convert a large number of text files to audio files simultaneously. But if one of them is very big, the audio quality will be reduced automatically. Please convert big text files separately.

  1. Does NaturalReader Enterprise support VoiceXML version 1.0 or 2.0?

NaturalReader Enterprise version only supports SAPI 5 XML controls, such as speaker tag, speed tag, and pause tag.

  1. Your software doesn't work with some PDF files.

NaturalReader can not read PDF files protected by Copy Right. Anyway, you can use the Adobe Reader embedded reading function: go to view->read out aloud.
