1. What are the core advantages of NaturalReader?
NaturalReader provides you with the high quality, most human sounding voices. It is compatible with many application programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. And it is incredibly easy to use. You'll find that NaturalReader offers you the most benefits with the lowest prices.
2. What products do you provide, what are the differences?
Currently, we provide three versions of NaturalReader for your preference. They are Free version, Personal version and Professional version. The main difference is that the Professional and Personal versions support AT&T Natural Voices, while the Free version does not. Additionally, the Personal version has more powerful functions than the Free one and the Professional version can be used to edit audio files. To find out the details, go to Compare Products.
3. What voices are used in the Free version?
Please note that in the Free version, only Microsoft Mary voice is available. 
4. What voices are included in the Personal and Professional bundles?
Both the Professional and Personal bundles include 2 AT&T Natural Voices: one male voice such as Natural Mike 16k Voice and one female voice such as Natural Crystal 16k Voice. To listen to AT&T Natural Voices samples, please click here
5. Why are Natural Voices not available in the Free version?
Due to licensing restrictions, we are not permitted to include these natural sounding voices in the Free version. Although the Microsoft Mary voice may sound a bit mechanical, it allows you to experience how the text-to-speech technology can benefit your daily routines.
6. Is NaturalReader easy to use?
Yes, NaturalReader is quite easy to use. Just one click, you can have your computer read any text from any application aloud without having to copy and paste the text from these applications. We provide add-in toolbars, hot keys and a mini floating bar for your preference. 
7. Does NaturalReader support other language voices besides English?
Yes. Besides Mike and Crystal voices, we sell premium voices from AT&T such as US voices Claire & Rich, UK voices Audrey & Charles, as well as French, German and Spanish voices. You can hear samples of these voices by clicking here.

You can order these Natural Voices after you have purchased NaturalReader. Please note that this means you have to first buy either the Professional or the Personal version.
8. Does NaturalReader support XML controls?
Yes.
9. Does NaturalReader support command line? Do you provide OCX, or dll components for developers?
Not yet. But we are working for it. 
10. Can I redistribute your Free version?
Yes, you can download it, use it and redistribute it for free. But you should notify us and get our permission first when you intend to redistribute it.
11. Does NaturalReader support MP3?
Yes! NaturalReader allows you to convert text into MP3, WAV and OGG files. You can create audio files from your email messages, articles, web surfing, any text you want to transfer to your MP3 player and listen on the go!
12. Can NaturalReader read web pages DIRECTLY in Internet Explorer?
Yes! We insert a reader toolbar in your Internet Explorer application. By simply selecting the part you want to hear, and then clicking the Text to Voice button, you can have your computer read what you selected aloud. 
13. Can NaturalReader read text DIRECTLY in Microsoft Word?
Yes! There is an add-in toolbar in MS Word application that offers you a quicker and simpler way of reading text without using the Copy and Paste function. 
14. Can NaturalReader read an Adobe PDF file DIRECTLY?
Yes! Just open a PDF file and select the desired part, you can have your computer read it aloud by simply using the hot keys or the NaturalReader's MiniBoard. Please note that the premise is that NaturalReader software is running.
15. Can NaturalReader read Emails DIRECTLY?
Yes! You can easily hear your Emails by clicking the Text to Voice button on the Microsoft Outlook add-in toolbar. Plus you will be notified when you receive new emails. If your email is in other email applications such as Microsoft Outlook Express, you can simply use hot keys or NaturalReader's MiniBoard to listen to it. 
16. Can NaturalReader read PowerPoint file directly?
Yes, NaturalReader can read PowerPoint file directly by clicking on the "play" button on the PowerPoint addin toolbar. 
17. Can NaturalReader read within a document?
Yes! Just highlight the part you want to listen to, click Text to Voice. 
18. What is your one-click technology?
One-click technology means no hassle of copying and pasting text like other text-to-speech software, all you have to do is select any text and press one hot key. 
19. I would like to distribute audio files created by NaturalReader software, how do I purchase licenses?
Due to licensing restrictions, We don't have the right to give you the permission to redistribute the sound files.

if you really would like to redistribute the audio files, you may have to contact the voice provider (AT&T, Neospeech) to buy the licenses.

1. How is the payment processed?
Currently, all payment are processed online via paypal and 2CheckOut.
2. I can't order from PayPal or 2CheckOut. Can I order by mailing you check or back transfer?

3. Is it secure to order online?

4. Do you have discount for bulk licenses?
Yes! Please cantact us for detailed information.
5. Can I download NaturalReader paid versions?
Yes! You can download them after your order are successfully processed. We strongly recommend you to use our free downloading service if you have high speed Internet connection.
6. Can I get NaturalReader paid versions on CD?
Yes! If you failed to download the software from the websites or if you would like to receive a CD copy, you can ask us to ship it by regular mail. But please note that a $9.90 US shipping fee will be charged.
7. Is NaturalReader available in stores where I can purchase it locally?
Unfortunately we are currently selling all our products through the Internet. We are working hard on making our products available in stores to facilitate your purchases in the future.
Technique Questions
1. I couldn't find any natural voices listed in NaturalReader.

a. Usually, you will find the natural voices automatically loaded in NaturalReader after you restart NaturalReader.

b. If you still couldn't find the voices, please go to control panel -> speech -> text to speech, and then click on "Preview Voice" button, you will see a message: "This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another voice or selecting a different audio output device." This means you didn't install the natural voice successfully. So, you need to reinstall the natural voice until it can be previewed in control panel.
2. I received the software package, but I didn't find the Crystal Voice.
Please go to Disc A, find the folder named Natural Voice Crystal. Open the folder and click setup.exe to install it. 
3. I can not see SPEECH in control panel.

You can download it from Microsoft website and install it in your computer.

4. I get an error number 1904 while I am installing NaturalReader.

This error number gives you the message that you were unable to install our software, and unable to register any component into your system.

There are some possible causes:

* You have installed some software which is protecting your registry.

* You don't have the right to install our software into your computer.

* You changed the installation folder with an illegal names (such as foreign letters). Please try to re-install the software without changing any settings.

5. How to uninstall Free version.
Please go to Start->All programs->NaturalReader, choose Uninstall the Free version to uninstall.
6. Microsoft Office add-in toolbars didn't come up after I successfully installed your paid versions.

Please make sure to close all Office applications when you are installing NaturalReader.

You can also choose to enable or disable the toolbars.

* To enable an add-in, select the check box next to the add-in.

* If the COM add-in you want is not listed, you need to add it to the Add-ins available list. Click Add, click the add-in (.exe or .dll file) you want, and then click OK.

* To disable an add-in, clear the check box next to the add-in.

* To remove an add-in, clear the check box next to the add-in you want to remove, and then click Remove. 

7. I can not see the IE toolbar.
Open Internet Explorer, click View->toolbars and check NVRIE bar. 
8. I want to convert text to audio files, what is the file size limitation?
Since Windows file size limitation is 3G per file, you can only create an audio file which is smaller than 3G. If the text file is very big, you can convert it by reducing the audio quality. Or, it would be better to split the big file into 2 or more pieces to convert, otherwise, the audio file might be too long to listen to.
9. About the Professional version's batch converter, how many files can I convert at one time?
Technically, that is no limitation. You can convert a large number of text files to audio files simultaneously. But if one of them is very big, the audio quality will be reduced automatically. Please convert big text files separately.
10. Does NaturalReader Professional support VoiceXML version 1.0 or 2.0?
NaturalReader Professional version only supports SAPI 5 XML controls, such as speaker tag, speed tag, and pause tag. 
11. Your software doesn't work with some PDF files.
NaturalReader can not read PDF files protected by Copy Right. Anyway, you can use the Adobe Reader embedded reading function: go to view->read out aloud.
12. How can I hear the reading through my Bluetooth headset?
Please go to control panel to set the Bluetooth headset as your text to speech audio output device.
13. Why I receive this error message: "error reading setup initialization file" when I try to install NaturalReader software.
This error message indicates that the file for NaturalReader is not fully downloaded. You only need to redownload the file fully to fix the problem.
14. When I try to install the natural voice, I receive the following error messages: "CRC filed in Setup1.cab. Unexpected end of archive" and "Some installation files are corrupt. Please download a fresh copy and retry the installation."
This error messages indicates that the file for the voice is not downloaded fully, please redownload the voice fully to fix the problem.
